Welcome to Caretakers Tanzania
Caretakers of the environmental International is a Global Network of Secondary School Teachers and Students Active on Environmental Education


Establishment of Caretakers Tanzania

Caretakers of the Environment International Tanzania(CEITA)with its Headquarter in Mwanza City-Tanzania.Is a National branch of the Caretakers of the Invironment International(CEI), Based in Netherland in the City of Alkamaar.CEITA is an Not for profit and Non-Government Organisation that organises Students and Teachers Conferences on Environmental issues in thecontext of formal and non-formal Education.CEITA founded Nineteenth March,2005,in Mwanza City.And is operating in more than 5 schools which represents majory of Schools in Lake Victoria Zone.


Tanzania Environmental Policy

It is clear that currently Global, and National Environmental Conservation and Management (NEMC) is aiming toward overcaming poverty-related problems,diseases,food,insecurity and insufficiency,filth shelter,unsafe water,inadequate energy supply and unemployment.Growing awarenessof the general public and individuals advantages of sound environmental conservation nad management forms the basis for sustaining the resources and environment.Furthermore,the government has committed itself in environment conservation and management and poverty eradication.

National Policies


The overall objectives of the National Environmental Policy 1997 are:
  1. To ensure sustainability,security and equitable use of resources for meeting the basic need of the present and future generation without degrading the environment or risking health or safety
  2. To prevent and control degradation of land,water,vegetation,and air which consitute our life support systems
  3. To conserve and enhance our natural and man-made heritage,including the biologica diversity of unique ecosystem of Tanzania;
  4. To raise awareness and understanding of the essential linkages between environment and development,and community participation in environment action and;

  5. To promote International Co-operational on the Environmental agenda,and to expand our participation and contribution to relevant bilateral,sub-regional,regional,and a Global Organisation and programmes,including implementations of trities.
